Many testers think they know how to write test cases. Writing great test cases is difficult but they are a valuable asset. In the new normal of Agile, continuous testing, rapid delivery, “automate everything,” lean documentation development lifecycles- you may not think there is time for thoughtful, intelligent test design. It is essential. Excellent test cases are the foundation of successful automation; it is an essential part of agile collaboration and having great test authoring skills across a team is the key to successful and fast testing. In this workshop, you will learn the differences between good and bad test cases, and the contents of a good test. We will do a few hands-on practices writing test cases. We will do exercises structuring and organizing test cases into suites and modules. We will discuss the benefits of structure and standards for team communication and sharing while focused on low maintenance practices for the whole life-cycle.
